EXHASUT SYSTEM ON MY HARLeY?

I have a 2009 Dyna super glide custom. I'm looking to buy the Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes. Now since the bike is fuel i injected will the bike need to be tuned? Also, do I need to but a fuel pack or can they remap the fuel system with the existing fuel injector. Also, if i do need to buy a fuel pack other than the pipes and the fuel pack will i need any other parts or will that do the job? My harley Davidson i cant trust them. They want to charge me $1900.00 for $250 handle bars with instillation and wires. what does braided mean when referring to handle bars on mini ape hangers.
yes i know it will have to be remmapped but isnt there a fuel managment system already on the bike or is it not efficient enough to be remmaped to handle new pipes and a new air filter........my question is do i need to by a fuelpak or can they just remap the fuel managment system already on there

Corrosion removal? for Harley Davidson bike?

Hi, my hubby bought a second hand Harley Davidson bike. It has some areas chrome that are corroded was just wondering does anyone know of a product on th Australian market that would remove this? thanks heaps!

Naval Jelly will remove rust & such from chrome, leaving the chrome intact.

Is it cost effective to Import Harley Davidson's to Australia?

I live in Australia and I am a motorcycle enthusiast, I've had a look around online and it seems Harley Davidsons are much cheaper to buy in America, even with the exchange rate. I was wondering if it's cost effective to Import second hand Harley Davidson's into Australia, and even possibly to sell them here to make some extra dollars.

Does anybody know about what would be involved with this process, and if it would work? Do the bikes have to go over Australian Standards before they can be rode on Australian roads?

Has anybody done something similar to this before?

I live in Melbourne and have wondered the same thing, the thing to do would be to bring in a container load of them to make it cost effective, before you do, I think pre 88 models may be easier on complinace but dont quote me. Check for how much duties you have to pay, this WAS the way to go with cars and bike yonks ago, they have tightened the reins though. IF you had purchased say 2 bikes for you and 2 for your cousin and you can prove it that they are for personal use, you might be allowed to bring them in without costing you TOO much. Import duties are the killer and the paperwork involved really puts people off. Personally, if I had a lazee $20 to $30k, I'd look at brining in a harley, goldwing, bmw and something else, I think you may be luck to squeeze 4 in a 20 foot container.
Theres a few 'importers'that operate out of qld. might be worth chasin up. good luck

What is the $8,000.00 Harley Davidson model?

I saw a commercial and it showed this Harley bike for about 8 thousand, I didn't write down what I saw, but I wanted to find more info about it on the internet.

Anyone know what Im talking about?

I don't doubt what Command said, but keep in mind that the 883 isn't slow, it's just slow compared to other 900cc bikes. Or even 600cc sport bikes, but it's not meant to be a sport bike.

Engines being "disposable"? I don't care if a bona fide HD mechanic said that, I find that very hard to believe. Cheap Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine are disposable, but only because the have aluminum cylinderwalls and no rod bearings and you can buy a new one for the same price of overhauling a used one. That certainly doesn't describe the 883 engine. I suspect the mechanic that said it was one of those HD guys that hate Sportsters....mainly because the Sportster is faster than his personal big twin. As far as the wearing the engine out, you're going to have to ride it very hard for a lot of miles to actually "wear" it out.

I met a gal on her 883 a while back. The bike was very well finished with the typical HD high quality chrome and paint job. She had HD hard saddlebags and they fit perfectly on the bike and had a wonderful finish that perfectly matched the bike. Top of the line to be sure.

As far as other people's opinions of the 883, dismiss them...as well as my own. If you like the bike and it will do what you expect of it, then go for it. If it won't do it, then find a bike that will regardless of what brand or size it is.
