Road King Classic
Heritage, Road King, or Softail Deluxe?

My current scoot is a 84 FXRS... I really like the FXRs but it really doesnt feel right to me.. I think it mostly feels too small. Im 5'9 245lbs... I haven't really been on any 500+ mi trips on the FXR, but I dont think it would be very comfortable.

Anyway, Im very fond of the classic look of the Heritages, Road Kings, and Softail Deluxe, but I really don't know what the differences are between them. I've been leaning towards the Deluxe, but more because of looks... I haven't had a chance to get in too test ride any of em yet, but Id like to hear some opinions and differences between the three.

So, what are your thoughts?

The Heritage and Deluxe have really limited suspension travel. The Deluxe was designed for female riders and it has a pretty cramped riding position for a lot of people. At 5'9" you might be fine though. I have to honest with you when I tell you I HATED my '06 Roadking, but I think it was just a bad bike. My buddy has an '05 that has had no problems at all. My '06 was an unreliable disaster.

The Roadking has a real suspension though. The bags are really roomy and well designed. It was also a really comfortable bike for the passenger. I'm just not a huge fan of any of the Softails for anything but appearance. They trade function for the fake hard tail look. I have ridden several and I wasn't impressed.

IF you think the FXRS is too small, you won't find any of the bikes but the Roadking much bigger.

That's just my opinion though.

If those were my bikes to choose from, I would go for my second attempt at a Roadking.
