My husband had a motorcycle accident on March 2nd and his is considering buying back the motorcycle from the insurance company. We figured they would charge us around $400 to $600 to buy the bike back, but instead they said the value of the bike was $1600. I just wanted to get other opinions on the worth of the bike.
The bike is a 1995 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster. It had approx. 6000 miles on it. It had custom pipes and handlebars. It had a larger gas tank (approx 5 gal). The bike is a total loss from the accident and is at a motorcycle shop. The guy that works at the shop told me that it wasn't worth more than $600 and that the insurance company is trying to screw us. He also said that an adjuster hasn't been out there to look at it yet, so how would they even begin to know the salvage value.
I have to call the insurance company back and talk to them and just am not sure how to handle the call. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I like Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles from the 1960s and 1970's and would love to restore one or two but not sure they are worth it.

The antique motorcycle trader says any bike overr 50 years old is an antique.

I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic, (it's a cruiser) and I've heard of a few options to improve horsepower from other riders, from a gadget that optimizes your air/fuel mixture, changing your air filter system, swapping/hacking the computer chip, and changing the exhaust system.

So, my question is: What is the best / easiest way to improve the horsepower???

Hey everyone I was looking into getting either a Yamaha FZ6R or Kawasaki 650R. I can get either bike for the same price since I have a friend who works for a dealership selling either bike. I have owned and raced dirt bikes for about 8 years and just wanted feedback. I have researched and get mixed reviews for each bike. It will be used primarily for riding on surface streets and takin on the highways and freeways very seldomly. Im not sure which is more reliable and wanted feedback from other peoples experiences. Once again I can get either bike for the EXACT same price so that is not a factor.
