florida police motorcycles for sale?

i was wondering if anyone may know where i can look to get information on purchasing harley davidson police cruisers out of the florida area. i did a few searches but nothing came up so i was hoping someone may have a web address i can go to. thanks a lot
in repsonse to baggermike. i am looking into these because a guy told me that you could buy them from someone in florida in the 4-5 thousand dollar range. i dont know but i was interested in finding out. i do custom paint work. i was looking to pick one up and do some custom work to it as in bolt on parts and also paint work and try to flip for a profit. but it may turn out that they can not be bought at cheaply as i was told. not sure. i have a 2001 road kink now so i am not in the market for a bike for myself. you can see a picture of my bike on my myspace account. it is gabodyman just as it is on this yahoo user account. thanks a lot again

Them things get rode hard while heavy, its not like they just serenely tour around, its mostly full throttle with a ton of gear, and electronics. Do NOT expect a cream puff. Our local PD offers them to the officers first. And Florida? imagine the worst beating in the hottest place, and there is the bike your looking for. DONT pay much, seriously they are TIRED. Not JUST HDs, The Kawasakis are whipped as well. Check for the value of a same year plain jane HD, no options, cause they dont have any, and then add the cost of a complete rebuild, new clutch, possible transmission, and thats where your at. Few people consider this while the auction is on, and they think they got a bargain. CAREFUL!!

How to remove thc cover over the battery on the right side of a Honda motorcycle?

I have an '81 Honda CM 400 A motorcycle. I want to remove the cover over the right side of the cycle covering the battery. I need to take the battery out and charge it. The right side of the cover just pops off. On the left side of the cover, there is a bolt holding it on, You can turn the bolt and it loosens but it never releasees. How do you get the bolt out. It is messing up getting the cover off.

Where can I find Honda SL125 motorcycle parts?

I have a 1972 Honda SL125 and I need some parts for it. A new chain would be good. I'm also looking to turn it into a cafe racer so I need a cafe seat and Z-handlebars. Does anyone have any resources?

I want to buy the Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob with the new 96 engine, but I have issues?

I have been reading in the top motorcycle magazines where the new 96 engine has serious overheating problems, BUT,, I think I can cure that overheating by using Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oil.
And, the extended warranty for 3 years is $1200, do I need the extended warranty or not?
If I do buy the HD, should I let my hair grow long and what tattoos would you suggest I get?

Frankly Bart, I don't think you're actually considering a HD but to answer your question, HD has addressed the excessive heat on the rider while stopped problem. The problem isn't when on the road moving but when stopped and heat radiates upwards, cooking the rider. At an idle, the fuel shuts down to the rear cylinder, basically rendering the bike a single cylinder. Without that cylinder firing, less heat is produces and cool air is pumped through it, helping cool it down. As soon as you open the throttle just a bit, it kicks back into operation. In addition, the rear exhaust now exits down behind the cylinder instead off to the side where it was close to the rider's leg. These two changes have supposedly helped greatly with heat management.

A good oil cooler helps shed excess heat as well. My ZN1300 had overheating problems (a common problem) when in 95-100F temps. I cast and machined my own adapter and mounted two large coolers which has fixed the problem.

As far as hair goes, you either have to grow it extremely long or shave your head. There's no latitude given...it's either one of the other.
